A *TEAM* POETRY SLAM INVITATIONAL
The Chill List *Team* Poetry Slam is the hottest spoken word event of the spring! Occurring annual in April during National Poetry Month, four of the best poetry slam *teams* in the country descend upon downtown Modesto to compete for a $2000 prize. Each poetry slam team perform through multiple rounds but must decide each round to compete with one individual poet, a pair of poets, or as a full ensemble!
Team poetry slam brings in elements of theater and acting, choreography and impeccable timing to present a moving group piece with a chorus of diverse voices. The impact of these poems is felt long after the show is over.
As with all poetry slam competitions, randomly selected judges from the audience award points to teams based on the strength of their poems and the quality of their performance. Audience participation is essential and laughter, tears, snaps, and applause are all welcome and expected at this inspiring, free-speech, team poetry event
