Modesto Artists Movement Partners with Cameras & Cocktails at Lofi Labs

We are thrilled to announce that the Modesto Artists Movement is officially partnering with "Cameras y Cocteles" (Cameras & Cocktails), a vibrant and soulful photo series hosted at Lofi Labs in downtown Modesto. This collaboration is a significant step in our ongoing mission to uplift and support the diverse arts community in our city.

What is Cameras & Cocktails?

Cameras & Cocktails is not just a photo series; it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the raw, unfiltered truth captured through the lens.

This unique event brings together photographers from all walks of life, inviting them to submit their work around specific themes or styles—ranging from monochromatic to black and white, or whatever the genre may be. It’s a dynamic and ever-evolving showcase that highlights the talent and passion of our local artists.

Organizer Jess Trujillo explains, "We provide something so special that from a small group of photographers just wanting to showcase photos and grab a drink at our local Lofi Lounge to now hosting over 20+ photographers, including local DJs and friends who bring their own creative sound to our show."

At its core, Cameras & Cocktails is a soulful safe space where artists can cultivate their craft, connect with like-minded individuals, and showcase work that resonates far beyond this lifetime. It’s about more than just photos; it’s about storytelling, capturing the essence of a moment, and preserving the truth of life as it unfolds around us.

Why This Series Matters

Events like Cameras & Cocktails are essential for both artists and audiences alike. For photographers, it’s an opportunity to experiment, push boundaries, and share their vision with the world. For the audience, it’s a chance to witness the beauty and complexity of life through the eyes of our talented local photographers. And for the city of Modesto, it’s an elevation of our cultural landscape—a reminder that art has the power to transform, to inspire, and to bring us together.

"Photography is an important medium of art,” says Trujillo. “It allows people to enjoy a moment in time and create emotion without words. It allows us to display our thoughts into visual art that is powerful in its own way. Our community has brought so many artists together and we are building a  strong community of like minded individuals who want to see our city flourish."

The Modesto Artists Movement is proud to support this series in any way we can. We believe in the importance of grassroots, artist-first events that prioritize creativity and community. By partnering with Cameras & Cocktails, we aim to amplify the voices of our local artists and ensure that their work continues to have a platform in our city.
